For a separate electric oven that needs attention
Electric oven repairs
Oven staying cold, cooking unevenly or losing power? Tell us what has changed and which oven function is affected.
Send your postcode and appliance details to Upkeepone. We will review the repair request, including built-in access, before confirming the appropriate engineer and visit scope.
If there are signs of electrical damage or repeated tripping, stop using the oven and read the safety advice.
Start with the model and fault
Request an oven repair callback
Include the postcode, oven make and model, symptoms and built-in access details. If a detail is unknown, just say so.
We need to confirm the scope, suitable engineer and visit arrangements before an appointment is agreed.
Check the appliance first
Repair enquiries for a separate electric oven
A built-in oven can have a fault even when the separate hob is working normally. This page is for enquiries about the oven itself: its heating, grill, fan, controls, door or operation.
Single or double built-in oven
Tell us how the oven is fitted and, for a double oven, which compartment is affected. Include the full model number so we can check the request and any specialist requirements.
Oven within a freestanding cooker
If the hob and oven form one appliance, use our whole-cooker repair route. It helps us consider the cooker as a unit, including any hob or control problem.
Say if it is a gas oven, range cooker, steam oven, microwave combination or commercial catering appliance. The appliance type and required qualifications need checking before we can accept the work. This page does not promise specialist manufacturer repairs or gas work.
Describe what you have noticed
Which oven function is not working?
No heat or uneven cooking
Does the oven stay cold, take much longer to warm up or cook differently from before? Tell us which function was selected and whether the grill or another compartment still worked.
Fan, display or controls
Describe an unusual fan noise, an unresponsive control, a blank display or an error message. Include when it started and any recent power interruption, cleaning or other work.
Door, power or tripping
Mention a door that will not close properly, visible damage, power loss or protective devices tripping. For electrical warning signs, stop using the oven and follow the safety section below.
You do not need to name a faulty component. The same symptom can need different work, so the cause must be assessed before a repair is agreed. Do not run the oven again simply to demonstrate a fault.
Help us assess the visit
Model details and built-in access matter
Have these details ready when you request a callback. If you cannot find a model number safely, say so; do not move the oven or remove covers to look for it.
- Job postcode and whether you are the owner, tenant or managing agent
- Make, model, approximate age and whether it is a single or double oven
- Fault symptoms, affected function and any displayed error code
- Whether the oven is under a worktop or fitted in a tall housing
- Restricted access, stairs, parking or other attendance arrangements
- Existing warranty, repair plan, recent repairs or installation work
Where safe, a photograph of the appliance front or an accessible model label can help. Wait for the agreed contact route before sending photographs; the callback form below is for your initial details.
If the oven is already covered, contact the provider about its procedure before commissioning independent work. If you rent, check who is responsible for arranging and authorising the repair.
Make the costs clear before booking
What an oven repair quote needs to cover
The appliance, fault, access and work required determine the quotation. A visit to assess the oven is not automatically an all-inclusive repair, so establish what you are paying for.
The first attendance
- Visit charge and included assessment or labour
- VAT and any travel or access-related charges
- What is payable if the repair cannot proceed
- The agreed appliance and reported fault
Parts and follow-up work
- Price and availability of any proposed part
- Additional labour and return-visit costs
- Any terms or warranty applying to completed work
- Your approval before additional work begins
Repair or replace a built-in oven?
Consider the confirmed fault, parts availability, appliance condition and total proposed repair cost. If you compare a replacement, include its installation requirements and whether it fits the existing housing. Repair is not always possible or the better choice.
Already decided to replace the appliance? Ask about electric cooking-appliance installation and replacement, making clear that it is a separate oven and whether any housing or electrical changes are required.
Burning smell, damage or repeated tripping
Leave a suspect oven switched off
Stop using an oven with electrical warning signs such as scorching, sparks, unusual crackling or repeated tripping. Switch it off at its accessible isolator only if you can do so safely. Keep away from damaged or wet electrical equipment and arrange a competent assessment.
Do not open covers, bypass a protective device or repeatedly reset it. If there is a fire or immediate danger, leave the area and call 999. An online callback request is not an emergency response route.
If the fault may involve the supply, connection or other circuits as well as the oven, describe that in your enquiry. Electrical fault finding is the separate route for a wider installation problem.

Electric oven repair enquiries in London, Essex and Kent
London, Essex and Kent are our priority areas. Hertfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Sussex are also covered. Other UK areas can be considered by request.
We assess attendance against the postcode, installation, access, travel and availability of an appropriately qualified engineer. A service-area listing does not confirm an appointment or support for a particular oven model.
Qualifications suited to the work
Our engineers are qualified, with NAPIT or NICEIC registration where applicable. Appliance type, the fault and any electrical work involved determine the appropriate engineer for the enquiry.
For other planned electrical work, see our electrical services.
Practical answers before you enquire
Electric oven repair FAQs
Do you repair built-in single and double electric ovens?
Tell us whether the appliance is a single or double oven, and send its make, full model number and postcode. Built-in access, the fault and the work required affect whether we can accept the enquiry. We will check the suitable engineer and scope before agreeing an appointment; support for every make or model is not guaranteed.
Why is the fan running but my electric oven is not heating?
A running fan does not establish that the heating system is working. Note the selected function, whether any heat is produced and whether another oven compartment or the grill behaves differently. These observations help explain the fault, but they do not identify a failed part. Have the oven assessed rather than ordering a component on the strength of the symptom alone.
Can I use an oven that keeps tripping the electrics?
Stop using it and arrange an electrical assessment. Do not keep resetting the protection, bypass it or try the oven on a different supply to see whether it works. Tell us when the trip occurred and whether other appliances or circuits were affected, using what you have already observed. You do not need to recreate the fault for the enquiry.
What should an electric oven repair quotation include?
Ask what you will pay for the initial visit, what assessment and labour it includes, and whether VAT and travel charges are included. Confirm how replacement parts, extra labour and any return visit will be priced. Also ask what charge applies if a repair cannot proceed and what terms apply to completed work. Agree the total and scope before authorising further work.
Will a built-in oven need to be removed for repair?
That depends on the appliance and fault. Access behind the oven may be needed for assessment or repair, so tell us if it is fitted at height, tightly enclosed or difficult to reach. Do not pull it out or disconnect it yourself. Mention any access restrictions before booking so the engineer can consider what is required.
Can Upkeepone attend my area for an oven repair?
Our priority areas are London, Essex and Kent. We also cover Hertfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Sussex, and can consider other UK areas by request. Send the job postcode first: attendance is assessed against the installation, access, travel and availability of an appropriately qualified engineer.
Tell us about your oven fault
Have the postcode, make and model ready, along with what the oven is doing and how it is fitted. We will use that information to review suitability and confirm the quotation basis.
