UPKEEPONE COMPANY AND CONTRACTOR CHECKS

Trade registration and contractor checks

The registration that matters is the one relevant to your property, the work requested and the person or business taking responsibility for it.

Before booking, ask who will attend, which business will issue the report or certificate, and how their competence and registration cover the proposed work. A familiar logo on its own does not answer those questions.

Upkeepone is a trading name of Cenultra Limited, company number 07917920. You can check the Companies House record.

Ask about your booking

Tell us the service, postcode and installation involved. We can then discuss the engineer and verification details relevant to that enquiry. Attendance is confirmed after the requirements have been assessed.

Our team will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your needs.

Start with the correct company and job

Upkeepone is the trading name customers see, while Cenultra Limited is the registered company behind it. Companies House currently records Cenultra Limited as active, company number 07917920, with its registered office in Chelmsford. A company record confirms legal identity; it is not evidence that every trade activity or engineer is covered by the same registration.

The next step is to identify the actual work. A landlord gas check, commercial catering inspection, domestic electrical report and commercial fixed-wire inspection need different experience and may involve different registration categories. Where another contractor will attend, ask who employs or appoints them, who issues the paperwork and who deals with questions afterwards.

Useful details to send: the property postcode, premises type, appliance or installation involved, fuel where relevant, and the exact report or certificate requested. Existing reports, appliance details and known access restrictions help establish the correct scope.

Check credentials against the service required

Gas work

Gas work must be matched to the appropriate Gas Safe registration. Check the business and attending engineer on the official Gas Safe Register, including the work categories for the appliance and fuel. Domestic natural gas, commercial catering and LPG are not interchangeable descriptions.

Start with our domestic gas safety or commercial gas inspection page.

Electrical work

Ask who will inspect or install, which business will issue the document and which qualifications and experience apply. The Electrical Competent Person register covers registered domestic installers and electrical safety report providers in homes in England and Wales. A domestic listing does not, by itself, describe competence for every commercial inspection.

Use the domestic EICR service or commercial EICR service for job-specific information.

Other specialist work

Some services use their own registration, certification or competence routes. Ask which requirement applies to the exact task and whether it belongs to the company, the attending person or both. Check the current record with the organisation that maintains it rather than relying on an old badge or an unrelated category.

If you are unsure which route fits, use the property certificate guide or send us the written request you have received.

What to establish before confirming an appointment

  • The contracting business: the legal or trading name shown on the quotation and invoice.
  • The attending person: who will carry out the inspection, testing, installation or repair.
  • The relevant scope: how qualifications and any registration relate to the appliance, fuel, installation and premises.
  • The document: which business will issue it and what areas, circuits or appliances it will cover.
  • Insurance: current evidence for the business or contractor responsible, where your landlord, insurer or procurement process requires it.
  • Follow-up: who will explain findings, handle a query and quote any additional work separately.

Do not treat registration as a guaranteed pass or proof that every part of a property has been assessed. The report or certificate must reflect the inspection performed and its recorded scope and limitations.

Questions about Upkeepone and trade registration

Is Upkeepone a registered company?
Upkeepone is a trading name of Cenultra Limited, company number 07917920. Companies House lists the company as active and gives its registered office as Unit 10, Robjohns House, Navigation Road, Chelmsford, CM2 6ND.
Does one trade registration cover every service?
No. Registration and competence are specific to the work, installation, fuel and sometimes the individual carrying it out. Ask which business and engineer will take responsibility for your job, then check the scope claimed for that work.
How should I check a gas engineer?
Ask for the Gas Safe registration details of the business and attending engineer. Check the official Gas Safe Register and confirm that the listed work categories cover the appliance and fuel involved. A registration for one type of gas work does not automatically cover another.
How should I check an electrical inspector?
Ask who will inspect the installation, which business will issue the report and what inspection qualifications and relevant experience apply. For domestic work in England and Wales, the Electrical Competent Person register can help you check installation or electrical safety report listings. For commercial work, also confirm the scope of any scheme listing and the inspector's experience with comparable premises.
Can I ask for insurance evidence before booking?
Yes. Ask which business or contractor is insured for the proposed work and request current evidence if it matters to your booking, lease or procurement process. The name, work scope and policy period should relate to the arrangement being offered.

Ask for the details relevant to your job

Tell us what needs checking and where the property is. For electrical services, London, Essex and Kent are priority areas for regular enquiries. Hertfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Sussex are also covered, with other UK locations considered by request. Attendance depends on the postcode, installation, access, travel and the availability of an appropriately qualified engineer.
